Overcoming Objections

Can you call back another time?

Yes of course, this will only take about a minute anyhow. (Jump into pitch)

I don’t like the way it looks

I totally understand & I actually agree with you, a long time ago panels looked terrible. Now we are using a triple black module that sits nice and flush on your roof space. It’s extremely low profile.

I’m moving

Oh nice! Is the house on the market yet? The great thing about solar is it actually Increases the value of the property on average by 4-6% & every house sells 20% faster with a solar system, which is a study done by the NREL they’ve found that homes with solar not only appraise for a higher amount, but also sell faster!

Customer: “But what if the new homeowner doesn’t want it”

In that situation they simply wouldn’t buy your house, however there would be 1000’s of other home buying candidates that would love a house without an electric bill. With that being said, I’m not looking to slam dunk solar panels on your roof today. I’m just looking for an opportunity to show you some numbers and see if this makes sense!

I’m too old

I totally understand & we actually have a special program for retired folks that helps to stabilize your electric bill & show you quite a bit in monthly savings.

Not interested

I get it, nobody is interested in something they don’t fully understand, however what I can promise you is if you give me a chance I can show you why so many people within your (City) are taking advantage of these Net Metering programs.

We already looked into this:

Oh great so I’m assuming you are on track to get your panels installed, who did you go with?

Customer: No we aren’t because... (X,Y,Z)

Overcome whatever the objection is for not moving forward and set appointment

It’s too expensive:

I completely understand, I hear this a lot and I will tell you that the price of solar has come down drastically over the years. Not only do you get a federal tax incentive back on the system, you also can expect your monthly expenses to decrease by 30% - 50% cheaper than what you are currently paying to pull energy from the grid. The best part is you do not pay for anything to get the system up and running. We cover all the upfront costs so you can start saving from day one.

Hurry up I’m really busy

No problem this will only take a minute or so, I’m just calling because your home is absolutely perfect for our program. Have you heard about the Net Metering Program that is helping homeowners cut their energy bills in half?

Working with another company

Awesome, congratulations on the decision to go solar! Now if you are entirely happy with what you have signed up for I wouldn’t want to step on any toes, however I will let you know that our warranty is the best in the industry. We offer a 30 year bumper to bumper warranty on everything including roof penetration, we have some of the best equipment in the market & our workmanship is phenomenal. We’d love the opportunity to at least show you another quote to compare apples to apples.

Not worth the savings

I understand where you are coming from, however we make the process extremely simple and easy for you, there may have been other companies out there that weren’t able to show you enough savings. However with our program I’m confident we can show you savings that make a lot of sense for the home. Also with the SimpleFlow guarantee if we cannot show you savings year one, we will cover your first 12 months of payments.

My bill is too low

I hear you, however rates are only continuing to increase, we can guarantee that you’ll pay less than what you are paying now & also lock those payments in for years to come, so as everything else gets more expensive you have the certainty of knowing that your electricity bill will never increase over time. It’s almost like locking your gas prices in 20 years ago, you’d be paying .90 cents at the pump right now.

Waiting for technology to get better

If I were to sit here and tell you panels wouldn’t get better overtime I’d be lying. Technology is always changing, however the panels we use today are extremely efficient and can most likely cover over 100% of your energy needs. With that being said, I reference solar panels to a refrigerator. 20 years ago what did a refrigerator do? It kept your food cold, today you could probably buy a refrigerator and watch TV on it, yet it still has the same purpose... keep your food cold. It’s the same concept with solar, panels will get better over time, yet it’s going to do its job for decades to come, that job is eliminating your electricity costs and providing your home clean power.

I need a new roof

That’s absolutely perfect, we do a solar and roof combo in one monthly payment which is typically

less than what you are paying for electricity. You can also qualify for a 26% federal tax credit back

on the amount of the roof as well as the solar. It’s a no brainer.

My partner isn’t interested in solar

I would never do anything without my partner, they’d kill me. If it’s a complete no I understand, however I’d love the opportunity to at least show you both the value of solar for the home and maybe be able to fill some knowledge gaps that weren’t there before. There’s zero obligation and who knows, maybe there will be a change of heart.

Process is a hassle

For us definitely, however for you it’s a breeze, we handle all of the permitting, interconnection paperwork etc. The only thing you have to worry about is being home for the installation, this will be the easiest home improvement project you ever work on.

Email me some info

Fortunately for you we are a team of walking brochures, the 3 hours of research you’ll do online we can cover in a thorough 45 minute online solar overview. You’ll also leave with a customized proposal showing where the panels would go on your roof, the rebates you are eligible for & exactly how much you’ll save each month.

Do you offer battery backup systems?

We do! We can look into a solar + battery combo

What happens to my roof, does it have a warranty against leaks?

We actually provide a 30 year warranty on your roof to cover any leaks if they do occur which is extremely rare.

What happens during the winter time?

Net Metering allows you to collect extra energy during the summer months, spin your meter backwards and you can utilize that extra credit during the winter months. The goal is a net zero on your electricity bill.
